Slippers in Scotland

How lovely to be writing this and looking out to some sunshine; we have a pocket of summer! If you are lucky enough to be walking near our many rivers, watch out for damselflies and dragonflies which are out in full force in July, displaying their fast flight and shimmering wings.

If you are in the mood for some creative cookery  the 30th of July is National Cheescake day, and there is no better way to celebrate this by  making this simple but delicious summery version https://www.waitrose.com/ecom/recipe/peach-ginger-cheesecake

Cathy hasn’t had much time for creating cheesecakes or rambling by rivers as she has just completed another successful week- long leather-making course at the stunning Gartmore House in Stirlingshire. The photograph features some of the felt and leather slippers the students made, aren’t they gorgeous!

So, for a couple of week we will be hanging up our aprons and popping our tools back in their rightful place and taking a well-earned holiday. We will be back in full force on the 12th of August and look forward to hearing from you then and sharing our holiday tales.
