As you will know from the previous blog, we are currently in the year of the dragon. In China fossils are known as ‘dragon bones.’ We are approaching a neap tide, following a new moon between the 18th and 20th March which brings with it low tides and therefore is the best time to go fossil hunting. Take a trip to Port Mulgrove near Robin Hood’s bay to find the most fabulous ammonites and if you are really lucky, not dragon bones but dinosaur bones! Take a look at https://theyorkshirefossilhunter.com/ to investigate this pastime further. In our studio, we have been making a simple gather all tray for keeping finds and treasures; ideal for your next fossilling adventure.
